The University of Miami’s received a $5 million gift to name the Alfred C. Glassell, Jr. Surge-Structure-Atmosphere Interaction (SUSTAIN) research facility at the school’s state-of-the-art  Marine Technology and Life Sciences Seawater Complex.
The 72,000-square-foot Newman Alumni Center, one of the first structures built as a result of UM’s $1.4 billion Momentum campaign, was dedicated on October 8, 2010, and features an architectural style described as representing a unique spot for alumni, students, and friends of the University to congregate in grand and intimate settings.
Made possible through the generosity of Dr. Phillip and Patricia Frost, whose landmark gift back in 2003 renamed UM's music school in their honor, the new Patricia Louise Frost Music Studios features a grand entrance into the school along with 77 chamber music and teaching studios.
